AhmadSherif (1 day ago) Part 1: Dear Zinab, you’re right about recite/sing. As a musician, I always say “sing”. You’ll agree with me that there is such musicality in Quran reciting that you cana easily slip from one word to another.
You said you felt insulted and… yes, I am going to ask you why… Please try to put a name on what exactly hurt your feelings. That is the entire point of this discussion as well.

But what I understand best is the overall meaning it carries, and the freedom it has given to me lead a righteous life and to be confident in my choices, whatever the criticisms. Salam, Ahmad

I personally do not think that you make Quran sound better by putting some ridiculous beats aside- I mean, that is where I can stand and say i do not agree with you 1%- and it is an insult and I can take that personal, and i believe I already did.

xnermeenx (1 day ago) Quran is strong on its own. Le kalam ellah el masal el a3la, but when you read a poem, you do not need a beat to go with it, the poem all on its own read with creativity, feeling and sincerity is ‘enough’. Back to where I say it is insulting to where we read the quran like it is just like any other song- including that the Quran is serious, words are serious, and should not be regarded as else.
And I’m not even going to reason with this video….

When it comes to taste, you keep your taste to yourself and don’t demean the quran, that’s crossing the limits, not for me only, but for everyone. Making music out of the Quran?? Trying to make it sound less serious, less real, less of everything is an awful way to display freedom.

I have a question: at the time of the Prophet PBUH, the Holy Word and the name of Allah were not transmitted using drama and acting.Today Islam is on TV, in “Mossalssalat Dyneyah” in which actors and actresses wear costumes, play parts, then go back to their normal lives or maybe go act in another movie or a commercial.I think it’s fine. What’s your opinion: do you think it’s ok to transmit Islam with hired artists on TV?

this is not appropriate thing to do. I think what you just did was INSANE. you’re insulting the Quran by singing Al-fateha. I remember that Abdullah Al-Ruahshid (The Kuwaiti Singer) tried to Sing Al-fatiha and he was about to risk his career! I used to like your videos but this video is really a turning OFF. stay away from Islam, it’s a very sensitive subject and I don’t really know what you did that for!
